Kayla Ball

Counseling Intern

Kayla is an intern through Liberty University who is working to complete her Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. She uses the Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) approach with her clients and believes that developing psychological flexibility can be beneficial for all clients no matter what age or stage of life someone is in. Kayla works to create a space and environment that feels comfortable and welcoming to her clients. Her treatment using ACT gives clients the opportunity to explore a more flexible mindset, identifying one’s values and what truly matters, and taking value-driven steps to create a life that is meaningful. Kayla values a Biblical approach to counseling, which means she uses the Bible as a framework to guide counseling sessions. From an ethical standpoint, Kayla maintains a respectful and loving approach to those who do not have the same values and beliefs but strives to help every client discover what is important and meaningful to them.

Kayla serves on the West Virginia Counseling Association Board as a student representative. Kayla, along with her husband and two kids, are actively involved in their church and community.
